(Metamorphosis of a Bride)
24x36+ Happy Canyon, Colorado
available for purchase
An acrylic painting on stretched canvas mounted on a rustic wood frame. Sculpted antlers break through his portrait and into reality. They are real carved bone.
This is the moment he was created for. His smile waits in a knowing grin.
His time of pinnacle worship to his Lord has finally arrived. This elk’s mission was determined when he was born and the Lord knew the exact day. His features were designed for a specific purpose: he was to be beautiful, to be sought after, to be desired, and to be in the valley at the same time as his hunter. Happy knew this day was coming, his honor and purest longing of fulfilling God’s will was here. Oh, to be in the cross hairs of his resolution. It was time for him to be used in God’s grander plan, a plan much bigger than his own life and existence. He would become more than an elk. He was to be what the Lord asked of him: a provision for many families, a way for community to gather and grow; he would become a beacon of hope, a legacy living on in a portrait, a reflection of God’s glory and a reminder of the Lord’s omnipotent plan.
He would become ‘Happy’ the one who knew.
